Making effective use of relevant data is important for any modern business. In Search and Recruitment, it's critical. The volume and quality of the data held in your company's database impacts how rapidly and effectively roles can be filled.
It's so important and so routine that sometimes we forget the data doesn't belong to us.
So you have got all this personal data from all these different people stored in all these different places...
How many of them actually know you're storing data about them?
How many of them know what data you're storing?
How many of them know what you plan to do with it?
Holding data in multiple places can make it difficult to deal with GDPR obligations, such as each individual's rights to request access to or deletion of their personal data and also increases the risks of data loss.
The GDPR aims to help people get the answers to these questions and more. It has a lot to say about what data we're holding and how we're holding it, as we'll see later in the course.
